Description
Widener's Engineering Summer Camp was developed by engineering faculty at Widener to introduce high school students to the field of engineering in a nurturing, noncompetitive, "hands-on" environment.
Students experience a four-day schedule full of computer workshops, demonstrations, films, laboratory exercises, discussion groups, and presentations, all while having fun. High school students make concrete blocks, launch soda bottle rockets and explore the fields of chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
Day camp is open to students entering grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 in the Fall of 2009. Resident camp is open to students entering grades 10,11, and 12 in the Fall of 2009. All sessions are held on Widener's Main Campus in Chester, Pennsylvania. A resident program (room, board, and planned activites) is available.
Sessions meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
